Spring is in full swing: How to wear floral prints!

Spring has always been my favorite seasons for many reasons. One of them being that the sun is finally out! But also, it's the season to bring out your brightest gear, full of soft pastel colors, floral prints and all things spring!

More than anything I love unique items and this dress has quickly become one of my Spring staples! It carries 3 different trends in one; floral print, cold shoulder and bell sleeves, so it immediately stuck out out to me on the rack.

Floral prints add femininity and visual interest to any outfit. It also comes in a variety of apparel such as dresses, tops, pants, skirts, blazers, shoes, handbags etc.

If you are petite like I am, one of the main points to remember when choosing a floral print garment is to find one that does not overwhelm you! Choose a smaller print,(small flowers) over a large one so that compliments your smaller fame.

If you are on the taller/fuller side, opt for prints that are larger. This is not definite that you must do one or the other based on body type, but more of a guide on how to make your decision easier when choosing. Other factors like the colors against your skin tone and silhouette of the garment, also play a huge role in making a choice.

To make floral prints a little less feminine, no matter the type of apparel, add a hint of edginess with these 3 tips:

  1. Mixing prints (ex. floral + plaid)
  2. Add edgy jewelry to the mix. Some of my favorites are here, here, here and here
  3. Pair with denim, a basic tee or even bold, metallic shoes.

Lastly, choose colors wisely according to your skin tone! Avoid colors that wash your out or add age but instead opt for colors that are known to highlight your best features. If you are having trouble with this, let's hop on a image strategy chat for a FREE color analysis. Schedule it HERE!
